Premiere of the cantata by Tauno Aints

On February 22, cantata „A Time to Love” by Tauno Aints will be premiered in Tartu Vanemuise Concert Hall (February 24 also in Tallinn St. John's Church). New piece on Leelo Tungal’s text will be performed by Estonian National Male Choir, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, soloists Jassi Zahharov (baritone) and Urmas Põldma (tenor) under the conducting of Mihhail Gerts. Programme includes also orchestral work „Prelude Solennel” (1940) by Eduard Tubin. Concert dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Estonian Republic is organised by State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert in collaboration with Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Estonian National Male Choir. Entrance is free.

Tauno Aints (b. 1975) is Estonian composer of younger generation who has written children’s music, choral music, film music, electro-acoustic music, works for folk music ensembe, bigband as well as symphony orchestra. Tauno Aints works as a teacher of music theory subjects in Tallinn Music High School and plays keyboards in a rockband Genialistid. Aints is a composer-in-residence at the Estonian National Male Choir for the season 2007/2008.
