Piano Gold – Rein Rannap 55

On October 5, pianist, improvisator and composer Rein Rannap celibrated his 55th anniversary. On this occasion, Rannap will give six recitals entitled Piano Gold – Rein Rannap 55 in different concert venues in Estonia. The program consists of works by William Byrd, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Ferenc Liszt and Frederyc Chopin.

The concerts will take place:
On December 6 at 4 pm at Rõuge Community Center,
On December 7 at 5 pm at Võru Cultural House Kannel,
On December 13 at 6 pm at Viljandi Grand Hotel,
On December 16 at 7 pm at Palamuse Community Center,
On December 18 at 7 pm at Kiviõli Community Center,
On December 19 at 7 pm at Tohisoo Manor.

Rannap graduated as a pianist from Tallinn State Conservatoire in 1977 and improved his skills at the postgraduate level at Moscow Conservatoire in 1979. In 1990–1995 he studied composition at postgraduate and doctoral level at the University of South Carolina, Los Angeles. As a freelance musician, he has performed as a solo pianist in Estonia as well as abroad. His unique concerts has been recoginzed for its intresting choice of the program (consisting classical pieces and his own compositions), concert venues and his improvisational manner of piano playing. The most well-know among his oeuvre are pop songs, but he has also composed symphonic music, choral pieces and chamber music.
