MIKK MURDVEE WILL CONDUCT TUBIN IN NORDIC COUNTRIES

From May 14 to 23, Mikk Murdvee will conduct Helsinki University Orchestra in Finland, Sweden and Denmark. The programme includes Symphony No. 3 by Eduard Tubin, The Saga Tone Poem by Jean Sibelius and Oboe Concerto by Richard Strauss (soloist Paula Malmivaara). The concerts will take place on May 14 at 7 pm in the Helsinki University Assembly Hall, on May 20 at 6 pm in Lund University Assembly Hall and on May 23 at 6.30 pm in Lyngby Culture House in Copenhagen.

Mikk Murdvee has been the chief conductor of Helsinki University Orchestra since 2007 but he has co-operated with the orchestra before. In Estonia, Murdvee has tight bonds with Estonian National Opera where he conducts ballets La Sylphide and Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. Additionally he has given concerts as a conductor with Pärnu City Orchestra, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra and Zagros Ensemble in recent months.
