Lehari Kaustel will conduct music by Sisask and Sumera in Poland

In October, Mass No. 5 „Chateau Rocher” (2008) for choir and orchestra by Urmas Sisask and Musica profana (1997) for string orchestra by Lepo Sumera will be performed at churches in Poland. Three concerts which will take place on October 12 in Poznań, October 13 in Cracow and October 14 in Warsaw, will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. Estonian music will be performed by soloist Taniel Kirikal, chamber orchestra Collegium Consonante, St. Michael’s Boys’ Choir and Tartu Boys’ Choir with Lehari Kaustel conducting.

Lehari Kaustel (b. 1982) graduated with a Master’s degree in conducting from Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Professor Paul Mägi in 2008. He is continuing his studies at the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Vladimir Ponkin. He has attended master courses of Kurt Masur, Atso Almila, Michel Tabachnik, Eri Klas and Colin Metters. Kaustel works as a conductor of St. Michael Boys’ Choir, Collegium Consonante and Coro Consonante and Haapsalu Youth Chamber Orchestra. He is a founding member of Sonico christian music society and an artistic director of Crescendo music society. He has been an artistic director of the festivals Tallinn Church Renaissance and With Soul Music to Christmas Time, he has also conducted musicals. For outstanding conducting Kaustel has gained several scholarships.
