• The Estonian Cultural Endowment's award 2011 to Anti Marguste

    On January 28, the Estonian Cultural Endowment gave its annual awards of the year 2011 at theatre Endla in Pärnu. Award of the year 2011 was awarded to composer Anti Marguste for his music that bears and develops values of Estonian folk music, ethnic traditions and national heritage. The Music Foundation award was given to Veronika Portsmuth and Raul Talmar for youth song and dance celebration Maa ja ilm in 2011.
  • Erkki-Sven Tüür’s orchestral works in Oslo and Ottawa

    In the beginning of February, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s orchestral works will be performed in Norway and Canada. Viola Concerto Illuminatio (2008) will be played once again by Lars Anders Tomter, this time with Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra (1. and 2.02). Insula deserta (1989) will be performed by chamber orchestra Thirteen Strings under the baton of Bradley Thachuk in Ottawa St. Andrew's Church (10.02).
  • Neeme Järvi and Estonian National Symphony Orchestra will perform all Brahms’ symphonies

    From January to May, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and their chief conductor Neeme Järvi will perform all four symphonies by Johannes Brahms. The first concert will take place on January 27 in Estonia Concert Hall. All of the concerts will be recorded by the Estonian Public Broadcasting.
