Head Ööd Vend

Head Ööd, Vend chamber choir was formed during the spring of 2008, when conductor and composer Pärt Uusberg called together a project choir to take part in his brother Uku Uusberg’s diploma production Head ööd, Vend (Good night, Brother). After its final performance, the members’ desire to sing together had developed to the point that they decided to continue as a regular choir. The choir has been an incubator for Pärt Uusberg’s compositions since its beginnings and still performs much of his music. Head Ööd, Vend has successfully taken part in various international competitions, one of the highlights being the Grand Prix in the 13th International Choir Festival Tallinn 2013.

The choir has recorded three CD’s: Siis vaikivad kõik mõtted (2009, Pärt Uusberg’s author’s album), Õhtul (2013, the Choral Album of the Year by the Estonian Choral Association in 2013) and Õhtu ilu (2016, Pärt Uusberg’s author's album with orchestra Collegium Consonante). Head Ööd, Vend has received the honour of being named Choir of the Year in 2013 and 2021.

Since 2018, the choir has been operating as a project choir.
