Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir’s new CD with Arvo Pärt’s music

Recently a new CD „Da Pacem” with music by Arvo Pärt performed by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir was released by Harmonia Mundi. EPCC and organist Christopher Bowers-Broadbent are conducted by choir’s artistic director and principal conductor Paul Hillier.

The new CD presents nine choral works of Arvo Pärt including „Zwei slavische Psalmen” (1984/1997), “Magnificat” (1989), “Dopo la vittoria” (1996/1998), “Salve Regina” (2002), “Da pacem Domine” (2004) and other opuses written during last two decades. The CD was recorded in 2004–2006 in St. Nicholas’ Church and Methodist Church, Tallinn.

Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Harmonia Mundi have been collaborated since 2002. Till now, six highly appreciated or awarded CDs have been released. EPCC has introduced Estonian music already in Harmonia Mundi series “Baltic voices” I–III (2002, 2004, 2005), which includes the work of Arvo Pärt, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Veljo Tormis, Cyrillus Kreegi, Toivo Tulev and Galina Grigorjeva.
