Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Piano Concerto opens the 23rd International Piano Stars Festival

The Latvian premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Piano Concerto (2006) will take place at the opening concert of the 23rd International Piano Stars Festival in Liepāja Latvian Society House. Performers are Laura Mikkola (Finland) and Liepāja Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Andres Mustonen. In addition to Tüür’s concerto, also Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C major, K 467 and Joseph Haydn’s Concerto for Violin, Piano and Orchestra in F major, Hob.XVIII:6 are in the program. The other piano soloist at this concert is Lisa Smirnova (Austria/Russia). In the same evening, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s chamber work Conversio (1994) will be performed in London Wigmore Hall at the concert of Leila Josefowicz (violin) and John Novacek (piano).
