Erkki-Sven Tüür’s choral and orchestral works in Austria, Germany and United Kingdom

In the near future, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s choral and orchestral works will be performed at several churches and concert halls in Europe.

Requiem (1994) will be performed by Albert Schweitzer Chor Wien and Capella Lutherana under the direction of Matthias Krampe in Lutherische Stadtkirche in Vienna.

Lighthouse (1997) for string orchestra is in the program of Britten Sinfonia at three concerts in England: on November 17 in Norwich Theatre Royal, November 22 in Cambridge West Road Concert Hall and November 24 in London Guildhall School of Music & Drama Milton Court Concert Hall. Among others the program includes also Arvo Pärt’s Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten, the main work is Benjamin Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horns and Strings. Orchestra will be conducted by Pekka Kuusisto.

Tüür’s another work for strings – Insula deserta (1989) – will be played on November 19 in Dornbirn Kulturhaus, Austria, at the concert of Collegium Instrumentale Dornbirn under the baton of Guntram Simma as well as November 29 and 30 in Essen Villa Hügel, where the Folkwang Kammerorchester Essen is conducted by Estonian Kristiina Poska. Essen orchestra will also play Pärt’s Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten and works of Britten and Haydn.
