ECM will release Tõnu Kõrvits’s CD „Mirror“

Next week, Tõnu Kõrvits’s new CD „Mirror“ will be released by record label ECM. Brand-new album consists of Kõrvits’s works like Peegeldused tasasest maast (The Reflections from a Plainland) for mixed choir and cello, Labürindid (Labyrinths) for string orchestra, Tasase maa laul (The Song of The Plainland) for voice, kannel and string orchestra, Seitsme linnu seitse und (Seven Dreams Of Seven Birds) for cello, mixed choir and stirng orchestra, Viimane laev (The Last Ship) for male choir, big drum and string orchestra, and Laul (Song) for cello and string orchestra. Kõrvits’s music is performed by singer Kadri Voorand, cellist Anja Lechner, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under the baton of Tõnu Kaljuste. Three works – Song, Labyrinths and Seven Dreams Of Seven Birds are in the program of three Easter concerts in Norway, performed by Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, Norwegian Soloists' Choir, Anja Lechner (cello) and Tõnu Kaljuste. These CD presentation concerts are taking place on March 20 in Tønsberg Dome in Kongsberg, March 21 in Gjøvik Church in Ringsaker and March 22 in Frogner Church in Oslo.

In the end of next week, March 27, Kõrvits’s music can be listened in Carnegie Hall, New York. Collegiate Choral Showcase presents his Canticle of the Sun performed by The Southern Chorale
under the direction of Gregory Fuller.
