Concert series Estonian manors 2008 by Corelli Music

From August 15 to 24, music agency Corelli Music organizes the series of charity concerts entitled as Estonian manors 2008 which celebrates its 10th anniversary. This year the concerts are dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Estonian Republic. Concerts combine Baroque music, contemporary choreography and history. Ensemble Corelli Consort and Fine 5 Dance Theatre will perform.

Six concerts will take place in these manors that are connected to the birth of Estonian Republic and the Estonian War of Independence (1918–1920). The program consists of Baroque music by Johann Valentin Meder, Archangelo Corelli, French harpsichord music by Jean-Philippe Rameau and music from the Royal Swedish Court by Johan Helmich Roman. Baroque ensemble Corelli Consort (artistic director Mail Sildos) on period instruments and one of the best-known and the most influential contemporary dance companies in Estonia Fine 5 Dance Theatre will perform. The historical background of the manors and birth of Estonian Republic will be enlightened by art historian Jüri Kuuskemaa. In the year 2008 the concert series Estonian manors 2008 will support the Tammistu manor near Tartu city, where a center for handicapped children will be created.

Concerts, starting everywhere at 6 pm, will take place on August 15 in Puurmani Castle (Kursi parish, Jõgeva county), August 16 in Avanduse manor (Simuna parish, Lääne-Viru county), August 17 in Pirgu manor (Juuru parish, Rapla county), August 22 in Viimsi manor Jõelähtme parish, Harju county, August 23 in Aruküla (and Väinjärve) manor (Koeru parish, Järva county), August 24 in Tammistu manor (Tartu-Maarja parish, Tartu county).
