Chamber Concert Series "Young Stars of the Estonian National Opera"
The first chamber concert of spring brings to you two highlights from the best of clarinet music, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet (1789) and Johannes Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet (1891). Both composers considered clarinet as the most beautiful instrument and closest to human voice in imitating its nuances. Up until Mozart, clarinet was not considered a solo instrument. Both composers have exposed the best qualities and possibilities for virtuosity of this tender sounding instrument. The quintets are performed by the splendid orchestra musicians of the Estonian National Opera Edmunds Altmanis and Aleksandr Avramenko (clarinet), Mari Poll-Novakovic and Adrian Bravo Lopez (violin), Maria Nesterenko (viola) and Marius Järvi (cello).
